Fabulous Downton Abbey Time

On Saturday, January 10, The Silo Cooking School explored and experienced the intrigue and glamour - and food of Edwardian England in a demonstration cooking class with Catherine Titus Felix - the former food editor of Victorian Home.

Catherine, who graduated from London’s Cordon Bleu prepared an wonderful menu of authentic Edwardian food and treats including, Cheese Straws; Oysters A La Russe; Ethel’s Salmon Mousse with Greens; Downstairs’ Lamb Stew; English Peas; Semolina Pudding; Lady Sybil’s Cake; Crepes Suzettes.

Not only was the food delicious, but the history and stories behind each dish was fascinating.  Chef Catherine also brought along items from her collection of late 19th and early 20th century table-top antiques.

Click here for Catherine’s Cheese Straw recipe.

Chef Catherine returns this April 19 for “Queen of the Ocean; Heart of the Sea. The Titanic Remembered.”
